LUKE & ADAM

About Us at Too Hot to Trot

Too Hot to Trot was founded by Jeremiah and Christine, a South Florida couple with a shared love for dogs — especially their two Irish Red and White Setters, Luke and Adam.

Luke, the older of the two, is nearly three years old and brings a calm, steady presence.

Adam, the younger “baby” of the family at almost two, is full of personality, drive, and an undeniable desire to work.

From an early age, Adam showed an intense need for movement, structure, and purpose — far beyond what traditional walks or backyard play could provide.

Adam’s energy wasn’t a problem to correct — it was potential to be guided.

And that realization became the foundation of Too Hot to Trot.

How It Started

Living in South Florida, Jeremiah and Christine experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to keep active dogs properly exercised year-round. Extreme summer heat, high humidity, and months of afternoon storms during Florida’s rainy and hurricane season often make outdoor exercise inconsistent or unsafe.

For a dog like Adam — who thrives on movement and engagement — missed or shortened exercise wasn’t just inconvenient, it disrupted his routine and focus.

The search for a solution led to a deeper look into canine-specific fitness equipment, and that’s when the Firepaw Slatmill stood out.

Why Firepaw Slatmills Matter

At Too Hot to Trot, Firepaw Slatmill technology is a primary focus, not an afterthought.

Unlike human treadmills adapted for dogs, Firepaw Slatmills are self-powered, allowing dogs to control their own pace naturally. This creates a safer, more intuitive running experience that supports confidence, engagement, and proper movement.

For dogs like Adam — who want to work — the Firepaw Slatmill provides:

  • A natural running motion

  • Controlled, structured exercise

  • Mental engagement alongside physical movement

  • A positive outlet for drive and energy

This technology aligned perfectly with our philosophy: exercise should meet the dog where they are, not force them into something unnatural.

Our Approach

Every dog is different. Some need to burn off excess energy. Others benefit from routine and confidence-building movement. Our sessions are built around individual pacing, supervision, and positive experiences.

The Firepaw Slatmill allows us to:

  • Tailor each session to the dog’s comfort level

  • Support dogs new to structured running

  • Provide consistent workouts regardless of weather

  • Focus on quality movement, not speed

Luke and Adam themselves remind us daily that no two dogs need the same approach — and our services reflect that belief.

Built for South Florida Dogs

Too Hot to Trot provides mobile, climate-controlled indoor dog runs throughout Boca Raton, Parkland, and surrounding South Florida communities.

By combining a controlled environment with professional-grade canine fitness equipment, we offer a reliable alternative to:

  • Hot pavement and extreme heat

  • Sudden afternoon storms

  • Seasonal weather disruptions

  • Inconsistent outdoor routines

Your dog’s exercise doesn’t have to stop just because the weather changes.

More Than a Business

Too Hot to Trot is a reflection of the life Jeremiah and Christine share with their dogs.

Luke’s calm presence and Adam’s boundless drive continue to shape how we think about movement, structure, and enrichment.

What began as a way to meet one dog’s unique needs has grown into a mission to provide other dogs with the same opportunity — to run with purpose, safely and consistently.
